One week ago, you were alerted to a submarine that had come under distress somewhere in the North Atlantic ocean. Systems on the submarine had failed and the nearest research station at Greenland had reported an abnormality detected near a tectonic fault line the vessel had been travelling near. Experts from all over the world were scrambled and you have been asked to be part of a new submarine crew to investigate. As your submarine approaches the last known location, you wonder what danger awaits you in the deep ocean.

The Nautical Trench 2.png

This is a separate game to the 2020 version of The Nautical Trench. Whether you have played the original version does not affect whether you can play this version, although previous players may recognise some mechanics and themes.

What will I be doing?

Using Discord, you will be taking part in an immersive roleplay experience. You will be playing a mixture of civilian submariners, scientists and other relevant experts trying to solve the mystery of what happened to the stranded HMS Aspire.

We will assign you a role on the submarine based on information you give us on sign-up.

How will it take place?

The game will take place in a single Discord server with separate channels representing different parts of the submarine. Players should have access to audio input/output and video. If desired, the refs can do a tech test with you prior to the game. The game will take place over 2 and a half hours with suitable breaks.

How much does it cost?

The ticket price is £10. If you, for whatever reason, would struggle to pay the ticket price, your ticket price is £5. If you feel like you could pay more, the ticket price is £15.

How do I sign up?

You can sign up here.

Places are first come, first serve and we will mark on the form when runs have become sold out. Once you have been allocated a space, we will send an email about collecting payment.

Themes we will likely be exploring (highlight the black text or copy and paste it into your address bar to view - there is also a question in the expression of interest questionnaire for phobias/triggers):

Drowning, feeling trapped, supernatural horror, player versus  player conflict
